  • ‘Glee’ Hates Public School Teachers—And Us
Pop culture has a real tendency to oversell the idea that one dynamic teacher can change a child’s entire life. But if it’s supposed to be correcting for that tendency, Glee‘s gone from being a realistic show about low teacher pay and school budget cuts to a fairly naked expression of contempt for educators. Take […]

Dictators and the elements

I got an idea tonight and ran all dictators of the 20th century I could find through a birth control.
The result is certainly interesting:

Hitler: Aries
Aguinaldo: Aries

Mussolini: Leo
King Abdullah bin Abdul: Leo

Stalin: Saggitarius
Franco: Saggitarius
Pinochet: Saggitarius

Pol Pot: Taurus
Saddam Hussein: Taurus

Mao: Capricorn
Omar Hasan Ahmad al-Bashir (Capricorn)

Ceauşescu: Aquarius
Mugabe: Aquarius
Kim-Yong-il: Aquarius
Than Shwe: Aquarius
Islom Karimov: Aquarius
Saparmyrat Ataewi Nyazow: Aquarius

So, we have the worlds 17 worst dictators. Lots of signs, however, are not present. None of these 17 was a water sign. We may therefore safely conclude that water signs don’t make successful dictators.
For the rest:

30% of them was an Aquarius (!!!)

36% of the a fire sign. The biggest European ones definatly were fire signs (Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Franco)

No Gemini, No Cancer, No Virgo, No Libra, No Scorpio, No Fish present. So 50% of the zodiac ring is completely dictator-free.

Aquarius seems the sign most likely to produce dictators, and Sagittarius possibly the sign that produces the most dangerous dictators.

Oh, and lest I forget: 11 of 17 are winter signs. That’s 65%.

  • So its true? Interesting list youve made.

Did you know that I (watersign/watersign/blubblub) was IKV Pax Christis first official Dutch Peacepowet in 2007? I will never run for dictator, don’t make a chance at all.

tomorrow you make a list of all sockercoaches?
  • Sockercoaches are interesting. First we have that horribly arrogant lion, Louis van Gaal. We have the two scorpios: van Basten and Hiddink. We have the shuffling aesthete Dick Advocaat, a Libra. Beenhakker, another lion but more balanced and experienced. Johan Cruijff, the lazy taurus addicted to the luxury of commenting without coaching. Rijkaard, another shuffling aesthete (Libra).

Soccer is dominated by Leo’s, Scorps and Libra’s. The Scorps are by far the better trainers, because they’re not scared to take risks, aren’t aesthetes and don’t have the arrogant narcism of a lion.
  • Kanvas Tetrapool:
This research can go much further than just sign, of course. A few suggestions:

    * The day of the week
    * The day of the month (number)
    * The number of the parents’ house where they were born
    * The color of the cradle
    * Wether it rained or snowed the day they were born
    * The age at which they still wetted their beds
    * The shoe size of the father
    * The number of chess players in their place of birth
    * The sale of monopoly boxes in the year they were born

I look forward to the results and wish you good luck in your search.
  • M.H.Benders:
Perfectly sound suggestions, but rather time consuming if you ask me.That’s the benefit of existing symbol systems, they save a lot of time once you have mastered them. Its much easier to comprehend van Gaal once you know he’s simply an arrogant lion. A compliment about his hair every now and then will do the trick.
  • Tetrapool, create a system with all these items in it, and all of them will make sense within that system guaranteed ;) )

Yep, it is an intersting list; i’ve seen them before, somewhere in another milennium i took classes at Hamaker-Zondag’s (a.o)

Martijn, were you born before 12.15 GMT or after? If it was before, you’ll fail to become a dictator ;) ))

Wat mij verwondert, zijn personen als Mohammed B. (pisces, like me, or better: like Gorbatsov) kennelijk kan religie en indoctrinatie iedereen (?) tot geweld bewegen :-/
  • Kanvas Tetrapool:
The problem with religion is that it’s trying to squeeze irrational presuppositions into a rational frame. That easily leads to immoral behaviour.
  • Yep, i agree Tetrapool, thats why i gave up the astr.-classes as soon they started to “‘correct’ the time-of-birth, based upon character- and event-assumptions.”
  • M.H.Benders:
Ok, let me prepare an astrological defense, then. The system, at surface, is rather absurd. The idea that stars at moment of birth influence certain character treats seems completely irrational. However, we do know from nature that for example winter plants have completely different characteristics than summer plants. In fact the astrological system is no more than a symbolification of the natural year cycle. The rigidness of capricorn is the rigidness of mid winter. The ancients thought the animal capricorn somehow represents that period of time well and its easy to understand why. As such the basic premisse of astrology is the idea that man, not unlike plants, has certain characteristics formed by when he first sees the light. This is indeed a rather religious dogma, but at least its a dogma that, as opposed to the major religions, is based on the cycle of nature itself. As I said before: I don’t ‘believe’ in astrology because for me believing in existing structures is a senseless phenomenon. I do find it interesting since I am interested in balancing the elements and astrology is one of the tools for analysing them.

It didn’t work, all the dictators were born.

Het laatste is m.i. gezonder.

Hitler was not born under the sign of Aries. He was a Taurean.
