‘Kabluey’ is a comedy film of director Scott Prendergast and was quite a nice surprise to watch. The film is about a loser who has to take care of his sister-in-law’s children, while his brother is in the war in Iraq. He gets a job as a company mascotte, standing next to a deserted road all day.

‘Kabluey’ is a genuinely funny movie, thanks to the talents of Scott Prendergast who plays the main role in his own movie. The guy has a priceless face that steals the show almost every scene. But besides that, the film is a sympathetic and contains many funny moments and a good rural America atmosphere. One thing I didn’t like was the ending: that seemed far too straight and linear for such an essentially sarcastic movie.

Somehow I feel
that if one would put a
nose-picking baboon on one side
and a supermodel on the other one
those elections would still be
a 50/50 tie.

That’s because
the only answer massive numbers have
to any question is: 50/50!

Ask the grains of sand on a beach

doesn’t baptise itself with it’s own water
to save itself from the sea,

I guess the sea is a communist.

Argus Libertos has an open air library on the Island of Buyukada, Turkey. Recently the police has shut it down. He wrote a book of poems named ‘Troubadour’. Here are two poems I have translated with Vildan’s help from this book:

The abyss

All girls are at Doors Concerts.
All bearded guys at Jethro Tull.
They’ll surely meet at Polanski’s estate.
My grandmother is from Kayserie.
She’s over eighty years old.
She collects cow shit for the night.
Rape-sex is all she knows.
She never had an orgasm her entire life.

Friends of the 17 year old Cassandra van Schayk from the Dutch town of Almere, who was found dead on 14 April 2007 in the waters of the Noorderplassen reserve, have beaten up a 25 year old man because they thought he could possibly be the culprit who killed their friend based on tips some paragnosts gave. These paragnosts told that they saw a black car with the sticker ‘Masters of Hardcore’ in their minds when they ‘investigated’ this case. The Local media wrote some reviews about that.

25 year old Wesley posesses a black Nissan Almera that has exactly that sticker on the back. Enough reason for the friends of Cassandra to lure him to a far off field and severely beat Wesley up. That happened last week, according to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

The victim has filed charges of molestation with the police. He also received death threats on the website Almere4you.nl, because of which he has deleted his profile there. He also removed the sticker from his car after some people threw a rock through his back window.

Police lets us know that Wesley is not a suspect in this case. Her death is still a mystery. Wesley told De Telegraaf that he has no involvement in the death of Cassandra, even though some people insist on believing that. He just knew her from some msn-messenges they exchanged.

Today the US congress approved a 700 billion dollar rescue package for the US financial markets.
The package will raise the National debt from $10.6 trillion to $11.3 trillion dollars.

That means that, if there are 250 million Americans, this package puts each of them 2.334 dollars further in debt. Debt per person is now: 45200 dollars.

Of course, this money will be printed extra, meaning inflation will rise sharply and consumers costs will rise extensively, so on top of the 45000 dollar debt you own the Feds thanks to Bush you will also have to deal with that.

Sooner or later they are going to pull the rabbit out of their hat: the Amero. Conspiracy theory? We will see. What’s clear is that debt based economies are greatly in favour of the ultrawealthy: the Federal Bank is owned by a few families. That is the largest mistake in American history, to have a Federal Bank that is not state owned. Now, all the financial institutions are state-owned except the one that matters, the Federal Bank. This basically means everyone has to work his ass off to repay debts to a few families in charge of the money flow. A mistake made in the end of the 20′s and I am sure we will see some new ‘mistakes’ rising during this New Depression.
