Pisces is the twelfth and final sign of the Zodiac, the last stage in the Wheel. It marks the transition period between winter and spring, wet as the March rains. Pisces is the last of the water signs and is mutable water, water that is most close to earth and most far from its divine source. It is, so to speak, muddled water. The Pisces is a dreamer that appears to be not of this world, but in fact from all watersigns Pisces is actually closest to earth, which is why he usally doesn’t realize his dreams: he lacks the divine inspiration necissary to achieve that. Since Pisces is mutable and water is already mutable we see an extremely mutable sign here, able to smoothly adopt to various different mindsets and circumstances without even blinking their eyes. You will find that many Pisces people will be able to take LSD and not notice much difference with their usual mindset, for example. Well, they will notice the difference but they are so mutable they can easily adopt to the new circumstances.
Because of this mutability they can, very easily, feel whatever it is someone else is feeling and swim very close to that. This makes Pisces into great flirters. They are always dreaming of ‘someone better’ anyway, which makes a relationship with a Pisces hard, and usually they will be either almost autistic people who are unable to communicate with their environment or, on the otehr hand of the scale, very good flirters that can perfectly sense someone elses mood or feelings but with an incapacity to make something substantial out of any relationship. Just ‘feeling stuff’ is not enough one must have the fire to do something with those feelings and usually the Pisces will lack that fire, making him a ‘sense machine’ on drift with no particular direction to drift to.
Pisces is probably the most nostalgic signs in the Zodiac. They suffer from bouts of melancholia and might be inclined to become drug abusers or flee into fantasy, poetry, music, etc. – they can be really sucessful as poets, musicians, and so forth because this sort of life appeals to them greatly, to be able to drift in dreams without being disturbed by ambitions or reality. One of their most irritating qualities is a twisted reasoning capacity: having a philosophical conversation with a fish one always feels one is looking at reality to some fuzzy, blurry stone. It is very hard for them to be clear in a mental sort of way but they don’t see it like that themselves, to them their words make perfect sense. Pisces always has some sort of otherworldliness, aloofness, a being lost in dreams and a Pisces eyes are very typical and recognisable.
The career of a Pisces
The Troubadour par excellence, the Pisces, wants a job where he can be undisturbed and doing what he does best: dream and create dreams. He wants to be able to float around freely and he severely dislikes being bound to worldly affairs, but he usually doesn’t have the power to break free from them: he is always dreaming of a better life, a better job, but he does very little to actually accomplish that because the truth is he enjoys dreaming and he knows that. Pisces is good for the artworld, for freelance workers, for jobs that require one to sense people very well (doctor/nurse/psychiatry) – when a Pisces can be somehwat his own boss and float around freely he will do his job reasonably well.
The Pisces in love
The Pisces is in love like a fish in the water. He is always in love but to him or her what they really enjoy is dreaming of a better person, a better world, it’s often the dreaming they enjoy rather than the relationship itself which is of course rather problematic, because it’s not real. Pisces is ruled by Neptune and Neptune will obfuscate love rather than strengthen it: the Pisces will lose himself in all sort of fantasies that have little connection to the reality of the person they want to be with. However, the Pisces falls in love easily and even when they are in a regular relationship they will still regularily fall in love with someone else. Water has to flow. Its very hard to restrict it unless its finds its perfect cup.
60 degree relationships
60 degree relations are the most common for relationships. These are the ‘good friends’ sort of relationships, that is often the best and most logical basis for long term commitment. For a Pisces these are:
Capricorn (23 December – 23 January)
There is some fascination there, mostly because the Capricorn feels that the Pisces is impossible to control. That creates a sort of fascination but in the end it will not prove to be a happy sort of fascination. Capricorn cannot control the fickleness of fish and his flirting escapades will drive him nuts jealousy wise, also the dreamy world of the fish is WAY too impracticle for the Capricorn who likes clear and direct affairs. The Fish is also way too passive sexually, which will not satisfy the Capricorn – so no, there might be a short and intensive fascination but I don’t see these two as a pair that has the perpecitive of fulfilling each others desires.
* Taurus (23 April – 23 May)
Water and earth make mud in the long run, but this combination has something comfortable to offer to the Taurus. The undemanding, dreamy fish finds stability and a connection to the world around him in the Taurus, and the Taurus as a root always longs for water to grow. The dreamy, unearthly world of the fish will seem like an escape from his own limitations to the Taurus. In that way the relationship may be beneficial to the both of them, but I don’t see any stability in the long run. The fish will have a hard time fulfilling the sexual demands of the Taurus, and its earthliness sooner or later will start to bore him and he will lose himself in crazy dreams. The Taurus will feel unfulfilled by this partner and sooner or later will start to be irritated by the inability of the fish to abandon his dreams.
120 degree relationships
These are relationships within the same element. These relationships tend to be very intense and intimate. They are in fact stronger than the 60 degree relations but harder to maintain because of their intensity. Once a proper balance is found they will likely, however, last forever, at least in the heart atmosphere. For a Pisces these are:
* Scorpio (23 October – 23 November)
This might work, but the vagueness and illogical behaviour of the Fish might also drive the Scorpion nuts. Also, it’s very hard to possess someone who is always walking with his head in the clouds. This relation might therefore be better for older Scorps and older Fishes who have learned to come down to earth somewhat. In that perspective this could be a fruitful combination, even though the sexuality of the Scorpion is much different than the sexuality of a Fish. So the chances that this will be a great relationship are, in the end, sort of dim.
* Cancer (23 June- 23 July)
Ah, two dreamers have come together. This relation will work, for these two will feel each others feelings and as long as they share their dreams they will feel intrigued by each other, but this is not a relationship of great passion: these signs are essentially both passive and this relation forces the Cancer into the active role, which doesn’t really answer to his secret desires. Also the Fish doesn’t have the power to penetrate the Cancers scales which he will find disappointing. These two will have an almost pure ‘friends’ type of relationship which might be good, but there will always be an element of the unfulfilled hidden in this relationship.
Opposite relationship
One hears often that ‘opposites attract’ and sometimes the opposite relation can be very good, since these signs can be sort of complimentary. In case of Pisces the opposite sign is:
* Virgo (23 August – 23 September)
Oh, oh, here comes trouble! The analytical Virgo and the most illogical, dreamy and absurd sign out of the Zodiac, the Fish! For that reason these two might feel very attracted to each other. The Virgo feels the impossible challenge of trying to analyse the fish and they Fish, usually at oddsw with himself, will hope the Virgo can somehow explain himself to him. Forget about it! This relation will almost always end in disillusion. Sooner or later the Fish will start to wander and flirt with other girls which will evoke the destructive side of the Virgo and cause a lot of pain. This is easily one of the worst opposites out of the Zodiacan wheel.
The sexual Pisces:
It’s hard to get a Pisces to manifest to earthly realms, but if you can do that they are very flexible and loving partners. However the usual Pisces will be a dreamy and absent minded lover and he will lack the greater fire of passion people expect when it comes to sex. The Pisces is always somewhat passive so the quality of the sex greatly depends on the quality of the partner. But with the right kind of chemistry the Pisces can be a great lover.
