Virgo is the 6th of the astrological signs in the wheel and its the symbol of the second fertility period in nature, late augus beginning September, when the September rains fertilize the earth once more after a dry hot summer. It’s symbolism is that of the gathering, the gathering of the honey of bees. For that reason the Virgo is a very selective sign and he needs a sharp mind to accomplish this objective. The Virgo is the second of the Earth signs and signifies control over the Earth: where in Taurus Earth was the root of the plant, in Virgo the Earth is the fertilizing earth to make the plant grow. A Virgo is always cautious and tends to take very good care of his environment. They love collecting things and love proper, hygienic surroundings.
If you haven’t met a Virgo with a cleaning frenzy you simply have never met a real Virgo. The symbol of the Virgin, ready to be fertilized: everything about the Virgo in some way or another is about purity. The Virgo will always seek purity in everything, and he will analyse the hell out of anything to see if that substance actually contains the purity he is looking for. Once the Virgo finds a thing he thinks is pure he will fully go for it and guide it like a mother would guide a little child.
Virgo’s are usually blessed with great analytical power. They can be very unhappy people if they turn this analytical power towards themselves, which would make their life almost impossible, or they can be rather unpopular people because they turn this analytical power towards others and put their finger to a painful spot one time too many. In any case, the Virgo is always somewhat conservative and will not easily be swayed by love or sexuality, unless he or she is approached with great purity.
When a Virgo feels his surroundings are impure he will do whatever it takes to purify it. Often you will see that politicians, curators, psychologists and other jobs that require collecting and a sense of purity are very attractive to Virgo’s. The Virgo will be a great essay writer, a great analyser of the human mind, a great collector of rare books, and so on. His essential weakness is that he is unable to let go of the basic duality pure/impure which lies at the basis of all his assumptions.
The career of a Virgo
Any job that requires analytical power. Psychology, Writer, Curator, Collector, Doctor: the Virgo is excellent as an analyst and cannot be missed in that regard since the analysis of a Virgo usually is dead on the mark. The Virgo has no interest in any leading positions usually, he wants to be left alone with his mind, peace is important to him and the ability to develop himself in intellectual ways. Any dirty job is really out of the question.
The Virgo in love:
The Virgo doesn’t fall in love easily at all. He is sceptical about love and will always investigate how pure the intention is of a person that claims to love him or her. For that reason he or she may adopt a ‘Princess’ attitude. mostly to test how sincere the person is in his love and how resilient. Once a Virgo becomes convinced of the purity and sincerity of a love he will, however, fully go for it and be one of the best mates you can have. The Virgo is, so to speak, a person with a lock on them and you need a special key to unlock them. Finding this key will be problematic for many people, but who does does usually find a treasure inside.
60 degree relations:
60 degree relations are the most common for relationships. These are the ‘good friends’ sort of relationships, that is often the best and most logical basis for long term commitment. For a Virgo these are:
* Cancer (23 june-23 july)
The purity of feeling of the Cancer will atract the Virgo and evoke motherly feelings in her. The fertile and critical Virgo matches well with the sensitive and creative Cancer. The Virgo likes to analyse and is one of the more conservative signs in the pack, the protection of a Cancer makes him feel secure and lets him relax his somewhat overcritical attitude. Virgos also share a love of details with Cancers: Virgo’s will often want to collect precious things, and the Cancer will neatly arrange them at their home. The Virgo’s thinking capacities will be strong enough to pierce the Cancers armor, which the Cancer appreciates, because this is what he is looking for in people. So even if the relation in the long run is a bit on the boring end, it will be a very stable combination.
* Scorpio (23 October – 23 November)
More turbulent than the realtion with the Cancer and quite a difficult relationship with one exception: the Scorpion is very good at finding things hidden so he will likely be the one to find that ‘hidden key’ to unlock the passions of the Virgo. But even if he does, that’s rather the start of the problems rather than the end of it. Even though the Virgo offers stability and rest to the Scorpion it’s critical abilities will not fare well with the passionate nature of Scorpio who cannot stand criticism at all and will regularily bite when he is criticized. The worst part comes when tyhe Virgo starts to feel the dark, breeding Scorpion is essentially impure and will try purify the person which is impossible through analysis. A long term relation between these signs is possible only if the Scorpion is of later age and has calmed down tremendously.
120 degree relationships
These are relationships within the same element. These relationships tend to be very intense and intimate. They are in fact stronger than the 60 degree relations but harder to maintain because of their intensity. Once a proper balance is found they will likely, however, last forever, at least in the heart atmosphere. For a Virgo these are:
* Taurus (23 April – 23 May)
There is an attraction between these two, but the relationship is somewhat problematic. This is because Virgo is a much more inactive type of earth sign and Taurus is sort of passive too, which results in two passive signs co existing besides each other. The critical abilities of the Virgo are also way too complicated for the easy Taurus and the Virgo starts to be very critical of the lack of ambitions the Taurus has, sooner or later, and that will result in conflict, since the Tqaurus essentially doesn’t like ambitions. So this relationship is a rather unlikely one in reality, probably the worst one we have seen so far. The dynamic with a Scorpion is much better.
* Capricorn (23 December – 23 Januar)
Again two earth signs, but this combination is better. The Virgo will try to help the ambitious Capricorn reac his goals by analysing his problems. However, the likeliness of the rather insensitive Capricorn discovering the secret key to the Virgo’s heart are rather dim. They will feel comfortable around each other, too comfortable perhaps, and in the long run their might just not be anough challenge in this relationship because two earth sings is simply too much of the same and it lacks any sort of real passion. But they will be really close friends, anyhow, even though the Virgo will feel some superiority of the Capricorn and regard its antics as the antics of a little child.
Opposite relationship
One hears often that ‘opposites attract’ and sometimes the opposite relation can be very good, since these signs can be sort of complimentary. In case of Virgo the opposite sign is:
* Pisces (23 Februar – 23 March)
Oh, oh, here comes trouble! The analytical Virgo and the most illogical, dreamy and absurd sign out of the Zodiac, the Fish! For that reason these two might feel very attracted to each other. The Virgo feels the impossible challenge of trying to analyse the fish and they Fish, usually at oddsw with himself, will hope the Virgo can somehow explain himself to him. Forget about it! This relation will almost always end in disillusion. Sooner or later the Fish will start to wander and flirt with other girls which will evoke the destructive side of the Virgo and cause a lot of pain. This is easily one of the worst opposites out of the Zodiacan wheel.
The sexual Virgo
The Virgo usually is a rather restricted lover unless one finds the key to unlock their sexuality. They are very obsessed with hygiene and usually will ‘plan’ sex, spontaneous sex is not usually very attrative to them, shower first! They love forplay and can’t skip that, it takes time to heat up a Virgo and you need to convince him of the purity of your desires. Once you find the key, however,m their sexuality can run out of control and they will be amonst the best lovers in the Zodiac, but few people will actually get to that point.
