The Knight of Cups:

The Knight of Cups rules from the 20th agree of Aquarius to the 20th degree of Pisces. He represents the Fire of Water. He is the spring rain, that which bring first life unto Nature, and he rides upon a white horse into the distance, the horse looking back to watch what is behind. In his hands he hold a cup like an offering, which contains a crab, and the long white wings on his back in the distance grow into the Peacock, which is his totem. The Knight of Cups represents the agression of water and its ability to shine. Persons symbolized by this card will therefore often seem brilliant to the outside world, it possible to be blinded by their presentation, but under that surface there’s another personality.

That personality is a mostly passive and generous one, a graceful person who is amiable in a passive sort of way. He is very easily attracted to others and will be known as a great flirter, especially since he has the ability to use the brilliance of water to lure people, but under the surface he doesn’t have too much to offer after that since his character seriously lacks depth.

The essence of his nature is innocence and purity. But it is an innocence and purity that is not of this world, and therefore this person usually has great problems maintaining himself in this world, since he cant really combine it with his nature. He tends to mismanage all his affairs; and unless sheer good fortune attend him, his whole career will be an unbroken record of failure and disaster. Often his mental “civil war” ends in schizophrenia or melancholy madness. The abuse of stimulants and narcotics may precipitate the catastrophe.
