The Prince of Wands:

The Prince of Wands rules from the 20th degree of Cancer to the 2oth degree of Leo. He represents the Airy part of Fire. He rides upon a chariot of flames , pulled forth by a lion, and His figure is fully inspirational and has an aureole of rays around his head. His mantle is a sea of flames and on his chest is the symbol of freedom. In his hand he holds the staff with the phoenix head, representing birth and destruction. This Prince symbolizes the powers of expanding and volatilising. He is fully inspirational, always fueling up his soul-fire. Instead of thoughts stemming from divine inspiration, as we saw at the Knight of Swords, he is the opposite formula: inspiration stemming from divine thought.

People ruled by the Prince of wands are freedom fighters by nature. They are rebellious, just, have infinite courage and they are always fighting against the odds of life. They want to do those things other people cannot do. They want independence above everything and to them freedom is not just something desirable: its absolutely necessary to enable their condition. This Prince is a very provocative person, often misunderstood because he has a weird and rather dark sense of humour people don’t always get. He is a great prankster and he’s always looking for victims for his pranks, but they are all made in good spirit: he can haunt someone with ridiculous actions for years but he cares deeply about his victims.

The moral qualities of this card are swiftness and strength. He acts very impulsively, either led by external influences or, especially when it comes to small matters, he might be the epitome of doubt. His speed of mind will fool you, because the truth is he is in fact very very slow in making up his mind about anything, but he always sees every side of a question, which is why these persons are very fit to service justice.

The influence of the last Decan of Cancer upon his character makes it more dark and aggressive. He is often violent, especially about his opinions, but the thing is he usually does not believe in the opinion he so violently defends. He states it merely for the sake of stating it. This is prone to his provocative nature, and might be just because of a hidden wish to meet someone stronger than himself.
