The Queen of Wands:

The Queen of wands rules over the first 20 degrees of Aries. She is one of the Court cards in Tarot and represents the water of fire. She is the gathering and understanding aspect of fire and therefore she will usually be a great, even if somewhat quirky, manager of people and affairs. She is depicted as sitting on a high throne with a Leopard next to her on her right side, a leopard that she strokes over its head.

The character of the Queen is one of inspirational contemplation. She is the symbol of active meditation, and in one sense the Leopard she controls represents the element of fear. She is throned upon a sea of flames and has a pome-granate staff in her arms, which represents the fire of the world. On her Chest the symbol of Pisces can still be seen: she represents the fire coming out of the water and an end to the darkness of winter.

People who have this card as a ruler are creative, intuitive, quirky and somewhat irrational people. They are driven by an urge to contemplate their actions. Since all her actions stemk from direct inspirations inside her mind she will appear as a ‘spontaneous’ person to many, but she is not as spontaneous as she appears. She is in fact vgery carefully controlling her instincts, represented by the Leopard here.

When she is in a bad mood she will often attack those around her, without any good reason whatsoever. She just suddenly turns and snaps and seems unable to rationally evaluate her own thoughts or actions. This is because the low energies make her return to the Fish period from the clarity of the Aries fire.

The Queen of Wands represents the fluidity and the color of fire. For that reason these people will be very concerned with visuals and forms. She is a kind and generous person, except when she meets with opposition. When opposed she becomes a warrior and is ready to strike.
