Here’s an old article I wrote about the poet Vishnu Khare and the Hindi novel. Still WordPress illliterate, so don’t know how to link directly to a pdf. Scroll down to ‘Research’, numero 19
Am reading Pound’s Poems and translations (God I love ‘The Library of America’ editions, good binding, bible paper). sort of embarrassing but; I ordered the book thinking it included the Cantos. somewhat of a disappointment then to find out they were published separately. but. interesting to see Pound’s early work. His little book (sure they didn’t call them chapbooks back then) for H.D. ‘Hilda’s book’. When I say ‘interesting’, maybe I mean: sort of weird to read love sonnets by Pound..
Dipping into Alfred Jarry’s Ubu Roi. Godfather to Pere Ubu (the band), and Ubuweb. Can only find in French at Project Gutenberg. Which is not a problem, I can read French! Uhmm, yes. mm. yes. Reading for gist. Good practice. Alfred Jarry, father of pataphysics, proto-father of surrealists, and all other other -ists that came up at same time, and later (some of which). Small guy on a bike with a gun. Sort of like a 19th c. version of Hunter S. Thompson (well, mainly the bike and gun part).

(Wanted to, tried to, leave the S. out from Mr. Thompson’s name, but somehow just couldn’t).
Alfred Jarry: 19th c. Kenny G., but without the glamorous white rabbit fur coat.

Just picked up Alain Badiou’s Conditions just (well, recently) out from lovely publisher Continuum (like their logo, lettertype, covers. Bad binding though). Will flick through this until Logics of worlds comes out (when?: soon). No, not reading it in French. Somehow curious what he will have to say about love, or is it Love, or uh, LOVE?
